3D printing specialist wins Technology Leader of the Year

Previous winners of the award include GE’s Jeff Immelt, Microsoft's Bill Gates, and Netscape's co-founder Jim Clark.

Morris was co-founder of additive manufacturer Morris Technologies, and was described by the magazine as the “unassuming king of 3D printing". He was recognized for his company's role in moving 3D manufacturing from the model shop to the factory floor.

Morris Technologies introduced the first direct metal laser sintering (DMLS) machine to the US. In 2012 GE acquired the company and announced that it would build a fuel nozzle made using the additive process for a jet engine.
