3D printer for medical parts

Amnovis, a Belgium manufacturer of medical implants, has acquired a two-laser metal 3D printer from US-based 3D Systems.

According to the companies, using the DMP Flex 350 Dual 3D printer can improve productivity by 50% when compared to 3D Systems’ single laser machine.

The laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) printer will be used to make bespoke and stock titanium medical devices such as orthopedic and spinal implants.

“For us, innovation benefits from material and process enhancements, as well as the ability to increase productivity,” said Ruben Wauthle, CEO and co-founder, Amnovis.
