Additive manufacturing (AM) company 3D Metalforge has partnered with oil company Par Pacific Holdings to identify parts for oil and gas that could be processed using 3D printing.
The companies say that they have already field tested the parts and expect them to meet API (American Petroleum Institute) standards.
The 3D manufactured parts will next be used in Par Pacific’s Hawaii plant, before being expanded to the rest of Par Pacific’s refineries.
‘We are thrilled to be starting this project with Par Pacific and having an opportunity to show how our additive technology can help refineries make their operations and supply chains more robust and sustainable,’ said 3D Metalforge CEO, Matthew Waterhouse.
