This year's winning paper is “Artificial Intelligence Applied to the Development and Characterization of PM Components” by Simon Gélina, Gabrielle Laramée and Carl Blais of Laval University in Quebec, Canada.

The MPIF’s Excellence in Metallography Award, was established to recognize excellence in scientific and technical written communications covering metallography.
The award is for papers presented and submitted for publication for PowderMet that improve the quality of technology transfer in PM literature by increasing the utilization of metallography and sustain and promote the science and technology of metallography, the MPIF said.
